A History of Britain is a BBC documentary series written and presented by Simon Schama and features a study of the history of the British Isles, examining a particular period and tell of its events in his own style. The show spans a timeline from 3100 B.C. to the sixties of the 20th century.
Episode 3 covers the years 1087-1216. One of the least well known kingsin English history, king Henry, established a huge empire running from the border to Scotland down to the Pyraneas in southwestern France and brought order to the ruined kingdom long after the death of William the Conqueror. But this feat of bravery and cunning was destroyed by his own family and descendants, power hungry siblings who backstabbed each other in order to attain power, and meddling wives who used deceit in order to gain privileges.
