A History of Britain – Forces of Nature
A History of Britain is a BBC documentary series written and presented by Simon Schama and features a study of the history of the British Isles, examining a particular period and tell of its events in his own style. The show spans a timeline from 3100 B.C. to the sixties of the 20th century.
Covering the years 1780 until 1832, Britain was hit by a revolution. Unlike the French revolution going on on the mainland during that time, Britain’s revolution was about nature instead of fighting and beautiful landscapes instead of rolling heads. The people found their connection to nature again and saw it in a new light, dawning the age of romanticism. Many poets, philosophers and ideas were the product of this “green” revolution.
