Lock n’ Load is a documentary about the various weapons which were and are used in warfare. The show is hosted by ex-marine Sgt. R. Lee Ermey who analyses and demonstrates the weapons featured in the show and also explains the origins and concept which brought about these technologies.
The idea of rockets is older than one might think, having originated in China, the land of gunpowder, but rockets didn’t become really effective until armed vehicles started to dominate the battlefields during Word War II, the troops realized that they needed an attraption which was able to penetrate the heavy armour and destroy a tank from the inside using explosives. Rockets and rocket launchers were perfectly suited for that job since they fired a self-propelled high explosive grenade at any given target, also having the advantage of being able to hit targets at long distances.
