The Ape That Took Over The World
BBC Horizon takes us back in time once more to millions of years before Christ, a time when apes ruled the world. Here, somewhere in central Africa, the first man-ape evolved over millennia, to set off to rule the world. For decades scientists believed this theory to be true, but now a fossil has been recovered which baffled them all. This fossil was supposed to show and prove that we as humans became what we are now due to our enormously large brains compared to other animals. This development of our brain sets us apart from all other animals, enabling us to think complex thoughts and eventually letting us establish societies. But this fossil also put up a problem: It may be possible that we first walked on two legs, and developed before our brain size increased.
